James L. Oschman, Ph.D., is the author of a groundbreaking book, Energy Medicine: the Scientific Basis (2000.) Already a classic, this book documents the fundamental science behind a variety of popular therapies that promise to become the "medicine of the future". His new book, Energy Medicine in Therapeutics and Human Performance, describes the value of energy therapies for athletes, dancers, or anyone wishing to feel and perform at their very best. As an academic scientist (with degrees in Biophysics and Biology and contributions to research in Neuroscience), Jim has written dozens of scientific papers for the world's leading professional journals. He has also published over 40 articles in journals of complementary and alternative medicine. Jim is currently on the Scientific Advisory Board of the National Foundation for Alternative Medicine in Washington, DC, and the National Advisory Committee for two National Institutes of Health-funded centers for the study of Energy medicine. He lectures and presents workshops on the connective tissue matrix and energy medicine around the world.
